Live Blamelessly Before God
The conversation with my Mormon neighbor concluded when I said something he rejected. I explained, I am at peace with God because I live blamelessly before Him. He exploded, “Oh, so now you think you’re perfect!” “No”, I replied, “I am not perfect but blameless. I am blessed with the righteousness of God! I can show you!” He refused my offer and broke off the discussion. It’s been years since we spoke. I remember him often, and my heart whispers an intercessory prayer.
Reason leads me to an inescapable conclusion. If Jesus commanded us to be perfect, He would provide a way. Jesus did not append His commandment with “eventually” or “in the afterlife”. I contend we should take Jesus at His word.
The way is before our eyes if we will only see. To my sorrow, there are many who will not see nor understand (Matthew 13:13). I hope you are different. I pray you will trust in Jesus and receive the righteousness of God.
Peace with God became my reality. I stopped trying to save myself by obedience to laws and ordinances of the gospel. When I believed and trusted fully in the Lord, peace came and peace stayed (Romans 5:1).
