My sixty year experience with Mormonism brought one issue into sharp focus. On two occasions I taught a year long New Testament (Gospel Doctrine) class for LDS adults. As instructed, I taught only what was presented in the instructor’s manual.
After leaving the church I read the Bible as if it were the manual. Only then did I discover richness in the Word of God.
